Why this task force exists
The Smart Cities Council’s Urban Mobility Task Force will prepare cities to successfully implement solutions that reduce congestion, reduce costs, reduce carbon, and expand and integrate transportation services for a more safe, seamless, accessible and equitable mobility experience.
We will achieve this via a three-prong approach:
- Collaboration. Provide a neutral meeting ground where cities, researchers and vendors can collaborate on recommendations and solutions.
- Education. Teach city leaders, government officials, key stakeholders and the industries at-large about mobility strategies, technologies and the benefits, challenges and opportunities of implementing mobility solutions.
- Navigation & Acceleration. Guide cities through the complex barriers to adoption (funding, safety, security and sustainability), so that growth and expansion of transportation innovations and new technologies can be accelerated.
Membership is open to the member companies of the Smart Cities Council; to cities interested in urban transformation; and to interested parties from the academic, research and non-profit sectors. The Urban Mobility Task Force is chaired by UL, a global leader in safety, standards and certification.
