Cleantech San Diego is a 2019 Smart Cities Readiness Challenge winner and Smart Cities Council partners have the opportunity to participate in its Readiness Workshop in Q4 2019. Partners may attend the workshop on a space available basis. Also, based on their expertise, partners may have opportunities to present relevant case studies or serve as subject matter experts during breakout sessions.
Cleantech San Diego is convening multiple cities, the port, airport, and regional planning experts from across San Diego County to approach smart cities efforts on a regional scale. Through sharing data and best practices and collaborative planning, entities will work together to develop a regional smart cities action plan that, among other things, will coordinate and deploy smart traffic signals and support the implementation of climate action plans.
Its priority areas are Transportation and Energy. It also wants to develop a regional smart cities action plan for the greater San Diego area. Digital City Services, Transportation and Public Safety. These will serve as the focus areas during the Readiness Workshop with the goal being consensus building and the development of action steps.
