Founded in 2011, The FTTH Council MENA is a non-profit organization with the mission to accelerate deployment of ultra high-speed FTTH – highlighting deployment approaches, applications and the benefits for smart cities, campuses and other real estate developments in the Middle East and North Africa region. It does this through information and promotion in order to enhance the quality of life, contribute to a better environment and increase competitiveness. With its Smart Cities Apps and Ops committee it will help promote and support both deployments and applications across the extraordinary range of developments in the MENA region. The committee has a number of objectives to support this mission with a practical and pragmatic focus on the benefits of FTTH deployments within Smart Cities and other developments.
FTTH Council MENA has more than 40 member companies, comprising vendors, national and private networks, governments, service operators, and utilities committed to ensure a sustainable future for the region.
Through its other committees, FTTH is promoted in the MENA region through technology and certified training, analyses and studies of the latest FTTH market data and evolution in the region and lobbying for relevant policies and regulations in order to facilitate broadband deployment on national and regional basis.
FTTH Council MENA shares with its sister councils in Europe, North and Latin America, Asia Pacific and Africa, the latest information and expertise about FTTH trends and technologies for the benefit of operators, consumers, and governments in the MENA region. www.ftthcouncilmena.org
