The workshop is by invitation only for regional stakeholders and a limited number of Smart Cities Council Partners. Philadelphia is the fifth and final city to host a workshop as part of the 2017 Smart Cities Council Readiness Challenge Grant program. The workshop will include about 150 key leaders from the city, regional governments, utilities, businesses, universities, and non-profits. It will offer shared background on smart cities concepts, a solutions showcase, smart cities action planning for Philadelphia, and leadership development for the next phase of activities. This is an opportunity to help shape the smart cities vision for Philadelphia, and the workshop will be closely linked to Philadelphia's ongoing Smart Cities Roadmap process.
Topic areas will include Philadelphia's Smart Cities Roadmap, shared infrastructure across departments and initiatives, integrated smart cities budgets, and new smart cities business and financing models. A detailed agenda and further details will provided in advance of the workshop.
