Smart Cities Week Comes to Silicon Valley May 8-10

Smart Cities Council today announced that it will host a West Coast version of its popular Smart Cities Week conference in Santa Clara on May 8-10, 2017. The new annual conference, which will focus on next-generation technologies, builds on the success of Smart Cities Week Washington, D.C. which brings over 1,400 federal, state and city leaders together with the sector’s leading smart city practitioners every fall.

Illinois on Track to Become First Smart State in the U.S.

The State of Illinois’ Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) recently hosted the Smart State Roadmap Workshop, a two-day workshop to pursue becoming the first ‘Smart State’ in the nation. The workshop, delivered by the Smart Cities Council, had more than 50 participants, including the deputy governor, state agency heads, city officials, businesses, universities, national labs and non-profits.
